The U-shaped pillow is a closed U weighing 2.9 lb (1.3 kg), filled with synthetic fiber and 51 in long (dimensions as stated by the manufacturer). Its two arms run down either side of you: one supports the bump and takes your bent knee, the other holds your back. When you turn over you move from one arm to the other, so nothing has to be rebuilt in the night. The cover comes off completely by a zip and goes in the machine on a cold cycle.
After the birth
The same pillow is used again once the baby is here: set around your waist while seated, the arm of the U supports your forearm and brings your baby to the right height during a feed. The nursing pillow is firmer and more compact, with a removable washable cover. The support belt comes in four sizes, from 27.5 to 51 in of waist, and is worn under your clothes.
